Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training Program
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Training Program has been the national model for training people to
help respond to emergencies. Trained CERT members can provide immediate
assistance to themselves, their family and neighbors and assist first

several weekly evenings or weekend days. The training class modules
include disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic disaster medical
operations, light search and rescue, CERT organization, disaster psychology,
terrorism and CERT, and hands-on disaster exercise. There are 16 CERT
programs throughout San Mateo County; for the current list of classes visit www.smcready.org/Community/Overview.html.
