Opening
of the C-A-R Milestones Preschool Integrates Children With
and Without Disabilities
The Community Association
for Rehabilitation, Inc. (C - A - R) recently
opened the C-A-R Milestones Preschool at 3864 Middlefield
Road in Palo Alto. The Preschool, for children age 2-5, is
unique in that it integrates children with and without disabilities.
This fully integrated program is also a first for C-A-R which
has seven other programs that serve people with developmental
and other disabilities. Another unique quality of the Preschool
is that C-A-R has on-staff professional physical, speech
and occupational therapists who are available to provide
services to the preschoolers on an as-needed basis.
Several parents of normally developing children chose CAR's
preschool because they expect that interaction and relationships
with children with disabilities will be a valuable learning
experience. They also value the access their children will
have to CAR's physical, speech and occupational therapists
who are trained to spot developmental delays in children. For
more information, visit http://www.c-a-r.org/preschool.html or
